Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of modern web, mobile, and API-based applications. You will work closely with software developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers in an Agile environment to integrate automated testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate has strong expertise in test automation, CI/CD pipelines, API testing, and cloud-based applications, with a passion for improving software quality through automation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for web, mobile, and API testing.
- Create and execute automated functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end test cases.
- Collaborate with developers and product teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Perform API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools to validate backend services.
- Analyze test results, identify root causes of defects, and work closely with engineering teams to resolve issues.
- Improve automation coverage, reduce manual testing efforts, and optimize testing efficiency.
- Conduct cross-browser, cross-platform, and responsive application testing.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and promote automation best practices across the team.
- Maintain detailed test documentation, automation scripts, and quality metrics.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Continuously evaluate and recommend new testing tools, frameworks, and automation techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 4–8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance with a strong focus on automation testing.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar automation frameworks.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
- Experience with REST API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or Karate.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database validation techniques.
- Experience working with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing microservices and cloud-native applications.
- Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Familiarity with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or SpecFlow.
- Experience with test management tools like Jira, TestRail, or Zephyr.
- ISTQB or other QA-related certifications are a plus.
