Network Administrator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure team. The Network Administrator will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing the organization’s network infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing connectivity across multiple locations. This role involves managing routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, VPNs, and network monitoring systems while providing technical support for network-related issues.

The ideal candidate has experience with enterprise networking technologies, network security, troubleshooting, and infrastructure management. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high network availability are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN infrastructure.
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, and access points.
• Monitor network performance, availability, and bandwidth utilization using network monitoring tools.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, and internet-related issues.
• Maintain and optimize TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols, and network segmentation.
• Configure and support VPN solutions for secure remote access.
• Perform firmware upgrades, system patches, and hardware replacements.
• Implement network security best practices, including firewall policies, ACLs, and access controls.
• Maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, and configuration backups.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to resolve network security incidents.
• Monitor network logs and proactively identify performance or security issues.
• Assist with network capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and industry standards.
• Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 technical support for network-related incidents.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5+ years of experience as a Network Administrator, Network Support Engineer, or Systems Administrator.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, NAT, and routing protocols.
• Experience configuring Cisco, Juniper, HPE Aruba, or Fortinet networking equipment.
• Experience with Windows Server and Linux networking environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

• Professional certifications such as:
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • CompTIA Network+
  • Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA)
  • Fortinet NSE Certification
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
• Experience supporting cloud networking in AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Experience with scripting and network automation using Python, PowerShell, or Ansible.
