About the opportunity

Architect global control plane and automated provisioning services for MongoDB Atlas across multi-cloud regions.

MongoDB Atlas is the leading multi-cloud developer data platform. We are seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to design the distributed control plane that provisions, upgrades, and monitors hundreds of thousands of database clusters running seamlessly across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
task Core Responsibilities

What you will do

  • check_circle Architect distributed control plane microservices in Go that manage cloud database lifecycles.
  • check_circle Build multi-cloud abstraction layers interacting with cloud provider APIs at massive concurrency.
  • check_circle Implement automated cluster backup, point-in-time restore, and cross-cloud replication mechanisms.
  • check_circle Mentor platform engineers on distributed systems reliability, idempotency, and testing patterns.

What we are looking for

  • arrow_circle_right 7+ years experience designing backend platforms and infrastructure for large-scale distributed systems.
  • arrow_circle_right Mastery of Go (Golang), distributed consensus (Raft/Paxos), and cloud APIs.
