About the opportunity

Deploy bare-metal Kubernetes and service mesh fabrics handling millions of HTTP requests per second across 300+ cities.

Cloudflare’s Platform Infrastructure group is seeking a Kubernetes Platform Engineer. You will maintain and enhance the compute fabric running on thousands of bare-metal servers across the globe, ensuring container isolation, automated kernel upgrades, and seamless service mesh routing.
task Core Responsibilities

What you will do

  • check_circle Manage bare-metal Kubernetes clusters running at scale without cloud provider abstractions.
  • check_circle Develop custom Kubernetes operators in Go to automate platform lifecycle tasks.
  • check_circle Implement high-throughput service mesh routing and mutual TLS (mTLS) with Cilium and Envoy.
  • check_circle Optimize Linux network stack parameters and eBPF programs for extreme packet throughput.

What we are looking for

  • arrow_circle_right 4+ years building and operating Kubernetes platforms in production.
  • arrow_circle_right Deep expertise in Go, Linux networking, CNI plugins (Cilium/Calico), and Prometheus observability.
