Optimize manufacturing yield, battery supply chain routes, and parts replenishment across Gigafactory facilities.

Tesla's Global Supply Chain & Manufacturing team in Austin is looking for an energetic Data Scientist. You will build dynamic optimization solvers and predictive demand forecasting models that streamline automotive manufacturing lines, reduce component bottlenecks, and maximize battery pack assembly throughput.
task Core Responsibilities

What you will do

  • check_circle Design mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) models and heuristic solvers for global parts logistics.
  • check_circle Analyze IoT sensor streams from factory robotics to predict machine wear and prevent assembly downtime.
  • check_circle Create automated executive dashboards in Python/Streamlit capturing real-time factory KPIs.
  • check_circle Work on the factory floor with manufacturing engineers to implement data-driven process improvements.

What we are looking for

  • arrow_circle_right BS/MS in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, or Computer Science.
