Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer to join our Network Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure to ensure maximum availability, performance, and reliability. You will provide first- and second-level technical support, respond to network incidents, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues affecting mission-critical business operations.
The ideal candidate has experience working with enterprise networking technologies, network monitoring tools, and incident management processes in a fast-paced 24/7 NOC environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, and cloud connectivity.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network performance and connectivity issues.
- Respond promptly to system alerts, outages, and service disruptions.
- Perform first-level and second-level network troubleshooting and incident resolution.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers and vendors when required.
- Monitor routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and network appliances.
- Analyze network logs and performance metrics to identify recurring issues.
- Execute scheduled maintenance, firmware upgrades, and network changes.
- Create and maintain incident reports, operational documentation, and knowledge base articles.
- Ensure compliance with ITIL incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.
- Collaborate with Network Engineers, Security Engineers, Cloud Engineers, and Infrastructure teams to improve network reliability.
- Participate in a rotating 24×7 on-call schedule as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–5 years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or enterprise networking environment.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, and switching.
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or other enterprise networking technologies.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, or Zabbix.
- Experience troubleshooting enterprise network connectivity issues.
- Knowledge of ITIL incident and change management processes.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays when required.
